With all that is going on right now, including college basketball wrapping up, NBA getting better and better and baseball just around the corner, it can be easy to forget about golf.
I guess one of the reasons is that nobody really plays right now because the tournaments suck a little. Also, they're on the Golf Channel a lot, and that itself will lead you to Tums-central.
Another reason - this week's tournament is the Pods Championship. What the fuck is a PODS? Like those U-haul things they bring to your house? Hold on - haha, well what do ya know, it sure is.
I guess if you have about 5,000 sets of clubs in your garage and intend to move, the PODS drop this week would be pretty damn helpful.
Anyway, John Daly and Ernie Els are playing, so you can expect to see some big performances out of the two. Other than those two, the most interesting byline would be that J.B. Holmes is in the field and if wins, he'll be winning the FedEx Cup point system thing that I still don't get.
I'd have to say, if this was the 1999 PODS Championship, you could pitch the stars better.
"David Duval, Davis Love III, Fred Couples - here today, at the PODSSSS CHAMPIONSHIP!"
