Those AP Writers are So Silly

As you have heard (word!), Camilo Villegas went from cute spider dude to actual PGA Tour winner yesterday at the BMW Championship. He was impressive from start to finish, with rounds of 65-66-66-68. His effort moved him to second place in the FedEx Cup point standings but gave him zero chance of overtaking Vijay Singh for the trophy. Note that I said "zero chance." Now, here is Doug Ferguson wrote about his chances. Such a goofball.

And he still has a mathematical chance for the FedEx Cup.

He moved up to No. 2 in the standings, but even if he wins the Tour Championship and Singh finishes last, Villegas still would finish 101 points behind. His only hope is to win at East Lake and for Singh to withdraw or get disqualified.

Lets dive into this thing. A "mathematical chance" would be something like, "If Camilo wins and Vijay finishes 25th or worse, the Colombian star wins the FedEx Cup." I'm pretty sure the only way math comes into Singh WD-ing or getting DQ-ed is if he signs for a 5 and really made a 6 on his scorecard.

Not to compound, golf is dead all this week and this is all us golf bloggers have. Bear with us please.
