The European Ryder Cup Team Just Got a Lot Pinker

The Americans now know the exact team that will stomp them into submission in two weeks at Valhalla.

Ian Poulter and Paul Casey were the two captain's picks for Nick Faldo and his Euro team. For the first time since 1995 Darren Clarke will be watching the matches from his television, alongside Colin Montgomerie, who also wasn't added to the squad.

"I've been watching these guys through the summer," Faldo said. "Ian is a very determined guy. I love his attitude and what he did at The Open - that back nine he played with the intention to win and had that emotional feeling."

These two join Oliver Wilson, Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose, Soren Hansen, Padraig Harrington, Lee Westwood, Henrik Stensen, Robert Karlsson, Miguel Angel Jimenez, and Graeme McDowell as the boys that will be sporting the blue come September 16th.

I have to say, that is pretty intense team to be playing. Without Tiger Woods on the team, the Americans will have to really find someone to step up and catch fire at these matches. Not a single American player is even in the top-5 at the Deutsche Bank Championship and only Jim Furyk is in the top-10. We've had our hot players at times, like Kenny Perry and Anthony Kim this year, but as of right now nobody is really on fire.

Maybe if they could take on that whole "we're a team" mentality heading to Kentucky it sure would be nice. Another butt whupping for the Americans could make this event just about pointless over here.
