St. Andrews Weather Forecast

The locals have wanted it windy and rainy for years at the Old Course, and it appears they're going to get just that. The forecast for the four days of the Open Championship (See, I'm converting!) are all rainy, mostly windy, and it looks to be very, very nasty.

What does this mean? Well, if you aren't on the better side of the draw (say it doesn't blow so hard Thursday morning but picks up hard that afternoon, and then is pretty calm on Friday) you are going to be at a disadvantage. There is no tournament in the world where the luck of the draw plays as much of a part as this one.

Also, don't expect the scores we've seen the last two Opens. When the Old Course is windy, she's a beast, especially from some of the new tees. Depending on which way the wind blows, some of these holes will be tough to get to in regulation, especially the 17th.

Umbrella companies, I'd get your shipments to Fife immediately.
