The Best Man to Help Dustin Johnson? Greg Norman

Talk about guys that have struggled to close out major championships, and the name Greg Norman will quickly float to the top of the list. Sure, he won two British Opens, but Norman finished second or tied for second in eight majors, and third in three others. He's the ultimate "What If" candidate, so it was nice of him to give Dustin Johnson a call after the young man's collapse at the U.S. Open.

"I got a call from Greg Norman, I got a call from some of my friends, and all of them told me that they learned more from cases they'd lose or from times that they'd lose than they did from when they'd win. Golf is a learning process nonstop. You know, there's a lot of things I think I can take from that Sunday.

You know, I've only spent a little bit of time with (Norman) but I got to spend some time with him down at the Shark Shootout last year, and obviously he's been in my situation a few times. So it was nice just to hear -- to get a call from him."

Obviously shooting an 82 when you have an incredible chance to win a major at such a young age is disappointing, but Johnson seems to be taking it as well as possible. Sure, it sucked, but it is all a learning process, and not many guys can go out and do what Tiger Woods did when he was younger.

Like I've said in the past, it seems that for a young guy to win a major right now, he's going to have to be a few shots back of the leaders and post something low while the others blow up. Winning these big events has just become so much pressure that sleeping on a lead when you don't have much experience is just too much.
