I honestly can't put into words how awesome I think the Jack Nicklaus victory was in 1986 (but like any shitty writer, I'll attempt to).
The dude was 46, hadn't won at Augusta in 23 years and shot a six-under 30 on the back-nine that was one of those rare "every shot you need at that exact time actually happens" moments that will never be topped.
This quote, from sports columnist Thomas Boswell pretty much sums up how great a feat the victory was.
"Some things cannot possibly happen, because they are both too improbably and too imperfect. The US hockey team cannot beat the Russians in the 1980 Olympics. Jack Nicklaus cannot shoot 65 to win the Masters at age 46. Nothing else comes immediately to mind."
