This Picture is All You Need to Know About Rickie Fowler's Sundays

On Sunday at the AT&T National, things were lining up for Rickie Fowler. Just 22-years-old, Fowler is the Young American Hope, the Anthony Kim of 2011. He is talented and edgy, or as edgy as you can be for a golfer that appeared in a boy band music video with a few older guys. But he's likable and talented and as we've seen with just about any youthful golfer that shows promise, we want him to be successful and be successful about five minutes ago.

So Sunday was great for those etching his career already, even though this is just his second year on tour. Fowler was tied for the lead with Nick Watney, probably one of the most underrated golfers in the game today. Watney has been there, Fowler has not, but there was Rickie in his Sunday orange, trying desperately to get a win on the board so he can go back to extreme biking and backwards hating and all the things he likes.

But the problem is, Fowler hasn't shown up on Sundays. Like, at all. This year alone, Fowler has played in 11 final rounds, breaking 70 in just two of those, and breaking 69 just once. This isn't to say that Fowler hasn't had a chance before, but for some reason in 2011, he hasn't been able to play well on Sundays.

So Fowler didn't win, and will now have to answer questions about his golf swing and his ability to handle the pressure (which is ridiculous considering his closing stretch in singles play at the Ryder Cup). The above picture pretty much says what Fowler must have been thinking after that final round at the AT&T.

He will win, and I'm sure he knows that, but until he does, people will be standing a little too close to him, asking him questions about why it's taking so long. Woe the life of a PGA Tour future star.
