Tim Clark Knows Nothing Of Your Stupid Jinx
On Wednesday at the Par-3 Tournament, Tim Clark didn't have the chance to avoid turning in a score. On the 9th hole, Clark dumped his tee shot in the hole for an ace and the eventual win of the tournament, something that will jinx you for the rest of the week from winning the big tournament.
Thing is, nobody told Clark about the jinx. The South African long putter is tied for the lead in the Masters through 16 holes with six birdies and just two bogeys. (Update: Clark finished up his round with a four-under 68. Leader in the clubhouse.)
Clark is tied with Ross Fisher, who is basically playing with reckless abandonment in his first Masters. Fisher took dead aim on 11, 12 and 13, eventually three-putting the par-5 for a disappointing par.
Other notable scores -- Phil Mickelson bogeyed the first hole before coming back with a birdie on the second. Lefty, sporting the always popular white belt, then pitched in on the par-4 5th hole from completely across the green. He is currently 1-under for the tournament. Greg Norman is 2-under through nine holes as is Nick Watney through 12 holes, who has an eagle putt on 13 coming up.
Who will not be wearing the green jacket on Sunday? Michael Campbell is six-over, as is Billy Mayfair.
The live blog over at FanHouse kicks off at 3 PM ET. Don't forget to stop by.
